The Chinese white dolphin, known as "the giant panda in the sea", is under first-class state protection in #China. Currently, there are only about 6,000 Chinese white dolphins worldwide, with the world's second-largest population residing in Leizhou Bay, Zhanjiang during the last 20 years. And the population is stable and growing. They often gathered into dozens of heads or even nearly a hundred heads of the collection of groups. As Zhanjiang is surrounded by the sea on three sides, its superior #marine ecosystem provides an ideal habitat for the Chinese white dolphins. #SplendidLingnan

4月8日是国际珍稀动物保护日，当天上午，一群视频博主在湛江雷州湾海域直击成群中华白海豚畅游嬉戏碧海蓝天间，场景温馨又可人。

中华白海豚，是国家一级保护野生动物，被称为“海上大熊猫”。据了解，中华白海豚全球数量仅约6000头，20年间，生活在湛江雷州湾海域的中华白海豚种群，不仅数量为世界第二，且种群稳定壮大，经常聚集成数十头甚至近百头的集合群体。由于湛江三面环海，优越的海洋生态系统，为中华白海豚提供了理想的栖息场所。
